Continue along the "Gold Rush Trail" to Kelowna and head into the Kootenay Mountain Region to soak your feet in the relaxing Ainsworth Hot Springs. Prepare yourself for the breathtaking views of world famous Banff and Lake Louise. Head North along the Icefields Parkway and be amazed by prehistoric glaciers. Nearing the end of your trip notice the diversity in landscapes as you travel into the arid desert regions around Kamloops before making your final ride into coastal Vancouver.
TOWERING MOUNTAINS, REMOTE WILDERNESS & GLISTENING LAKES
British Columbia is home to the most stunning and diverse landscapes in the world. In your tour itinerary we have outlined the highlights for each day so you will always be prepared for the adventure that lies ahead. Here are just a few of the main highlights you will see on your tour.
|Columbia Ice Fields
The Columbia Icefield is a surviving remnant of the thick ice mass that once mantled most of Western Canada's mountains. Lying on a wide, elevated plateau, it is the largest icefield in the Canadian Rockies. This will be one of the most breathtaking sights on your tour.
The 23-metre Athabasca Falls is not very high by Canadian Rockies standards, but the size of the river makes it one of the most powerful falls to be found in the national park. Pouring over a layer of hard quartzite, the falls have cut into the softer limestone beneath, carving intricate features, including potholes and a short canyon.
Canada's "Diamond in the Wilderness," and the "Hiking Capital of Canada". This stunning emerald lake is situated in the heart of the Rockies, a sight that needs to be seen to believed.
|Ainsworth Hot Springs
After a long day of riding there is no better place to relax than in the natural hot springs of historic Ainsworth.
|Duffey Lake Pass
One of the best roads in BC. This high alpine pass has endless perfectly cambered turns for you to test the limits of your bike.
Day 1: Arrive in Vancouver
The starting point for all of our tours is Vancouver. If arriving early enough, bikes are collected and then back to the hotel. Alternatively, bikes can be collected the next morning.

After check out, continue north on 99 through Pemberton and begin a series of interesting switch backs for a dramatic climb into the mountains. As you work your way past the Coast Range Mountains to Kelowna you will be traveling through cowboy country. Rolling hills and the odd cattle ranch will be what you see before you enter Kelowna.
Day 4: Kelowna to Ainsworth Hot Springs - 375km/230mi
As you leave Kelowna, the rolling hills transform into the towering peaks and the green forests of the Kootenay Mountain region. This area is famous for a large number of ski resorts, many breweries, and fertile land for growing fruit. Reward yourself after a long ride in the relaxing Ainsworth Hot Springs.

Day 6: Revelstoke to Banff - 330km/205mi
Say goodbye to Revelstoke and get ready to ride the storied Kicking Horse Pass. The road from Revelstoke winds through the narrow valleys that helped link together Trans Canada Railway. You will experience enough switchbacks to make you dizzy.
Day 7: Second day in Banff - Rest Day
The surrounding area in world famous Banff has much to offer during your rest days. You can enjoy walking around the busy tourist town or take shorter day trips to a number of different viewpoints. You have the option to visit a number of towns in the surrounding area, lots of great riding is at your fingertips.

Day 10: Kamloops to Vancouver - 450km/280mi
Depart from Kamloops and follow the "Gold Rush Trail" of the late 1800's. Through the famous Fraser River Canyon from Cache Creek to Hope with stops at Spences Bridge and the famous "Hell's Gate Canyon," before heading west on the Trans Canada Highway for your final leg before Vancouver.

The tour was great. I'm glad I took the V-Strom. Really comfy ride. Wasn't prepared for how hot the weather got once I reached Banff. Was like riding into a hair dryer, and I was setting off early each day to get some riding in before it got too warm. Having said that, all I wanted to do on the last day was to ride straight past the depot and do the whole thing again.
We just wanted to say thank you for the incredible trip. It was great having the 2 days at Mt Robson. We spent the free day floating down the river on a raft and then we headed to Jasper and spent a bit of time there. We went up on the Tramway which has fantastic views. On the Lake Duffy Road we had an encounter with a young bear. He was so cute! (I know they aren't that cute at times but I am a tourist remember). And thanks for the fax advising us of the ghost town of Sandon. It was great!
I wanted to say that this trip was fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. Our heads are full of all the wonderful images, sights, places and people that we have visited or met.Your organization was perfect - all according to plan. The boys at Cycle BC Rentals were great. The hotels were grand. Thanks for such a wonderful tour.
We are back and we had a fabulous time! We loved Canada, especially the mountains. As for feedback, here goes:
- The directions were good, happy overall really.
- The accommodations were at very good standards, we were quite impressed with some of them, we liked Rundlestone Lodge at Banff, the cabins at Mount Robson were a nice surprise, and the Summit Lodge at Whistler was very posh! The Best Western in uptown Vancouver was really great, very local for public transport and not far from downtown. The people were great and very helpful too.
- The bikes were great, we had no problems with them, and the guys at Cycle BC were really friendly and helpful. We had plenty of room in the panniers, don't know what the girls were worried about!
- Overall, a fantastic experience, we would recommend the tour to anyone, spreading the word as we speak, and for years to come no doubt!
Thanks for all your organizing, it truly was a memorable time.
