Can I drive a rental motorcycle or scooter off road?

Scooters are not allowed to travel on non-paved roads. Select motorcycles are able to travel on non-paved roads under certain circumstances. We place these restrictions so we can keep our equipment in the best possible condition. Can I rent a motorcycles to do the ICBC skills/road test?

Yes, although we abide by the same restrictions placed on your license by ICBC. For information on getting your motorcycle license in BC visit ICBC

Can I store my luggage at your shop while I’m on rental?

Yes, we offer secure storage for anything you would like to leave behind, free of charge. As well, you can ship luggage to our office in advance of your rental to save money on your flight.  Please contact us if you would like to take advantage of this service.

Can I take a rented motorcycle into the USA?

Yes, provided with all of our bikes are copies of the registration and insurance, so you can travel freely between the US and Canadian border, however, travel to Mexico is restricted.

Can you deliver the bike to my hotel?

We cannot deliver equipment to your hotel. We require that the renter, and if applicable, the passenger are present at the time of rental to fill out contracts. While you are at the shop we can outfit you with proper fitting riding gear, and make any adjustment to the bike so you can have the best experience possible.

Do you have late night drop offs?

We do not have late night drop offs. We require that a Cycle BC employee is present to check you in, and to perform a thorough inspection of the equipment.  We also want to ensure that you have had a great trip!

Do you offer discounts for groups?

Do you offer one way rentals?

Depending on where you would like to start or end your rental, we may be able to provide you with one way rentals. Please contact Cycle BC to check on this possibility, and to receive a quote on a one way rental.

Do you provide motorcycle luggage?

All of our bikes come equipped with either factory luggage or high quality aftermarket luggage. For our Sport Touring and Adventure Touring bikes the side bags range from 20L-35L and our top boxes are all 45L. For our Cruisers the side bags are typically 35L and we have rear luggage racks with accompanying 50L top bags. If you need to know the exact size of the luggage on the bike you are renting please ask at the time of booking. All luggage comes free of charge.

Do you rent GPS units?

Yes, please check out our accessories page for additional details. If you would like to bring your own with mounting gear, a Cycle BC staff member will be more than happy to mount it for you.

Extra milage cost on motorcycle rentals

Any mileage, in addition to the amount allocated for your rental duration, will be billed at $0.20/km

How new are your motorcycles?

All of our bikes are the latest models. At Cycle BC Rentals & Tours we take pride in the care of our bikes so that they will be in the best possible condition for your rental. We focus on preventative maintenance so that you don't need to worry about such things as oil changes or tire or brake pad wear while you are out on your trip. At Cycle BC we think the last thing you should have on your mind is worrying about your bike, this way you can enjoy the trip to its fullest potential.

How old do I need to be to rent?

Motorcycles: We require that you are at least 21 years of age to rent. If you are under 21 please contact Cycle BC and under certain circumstances you may be able to rent. 

Scooters & Bicycles: In order to rent you need to be at least 19 years of age. If you are between the ages of 16-18 you can still rent but we require that you have a legal parent or guardian present at the time of rental.

I am traveling from outside of Canada do I need an international driving permit?

It depends on which country you are from. In Canada, your licence needs to be in either English or French and have a valid motorcycle endorsement with an issue and expiry date (if applicable). We recommend you check with your local licencing offices before you travel to Canada to make sure.

What are your business hours?

What happens if I get a flat tire?

Included with every rental is a tire repair kit, if a flat does occur we will do everything we can to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. Please refer to our policies page for more information

What kind of license do I need to rent a Motorcycle?

If you are from BC you need to have a valid class 6 or a valid Class 7/7L, however, some restrictions may apply with the Class 7 L license, please call or email for details. If you are from outside of BC you need to have a valid motorcycle license issued from your place of origin. For more information on licencing in BC please go to ICBC

What should I bring?

The two most important things you will need to rent are a valid driver's licence with a motorcycle endorsement, and a credit card for a security deposit. Outside of that we provide helmets and gloves for both you and your passenger, complete sets of motorcycle luggage, and we rent out jackets and rain gear as well. Just don't forget to bring your camera!
